Yes. Successful completion will get you a downloadable PDF certificate as proof of your ongoing learning.
Glad you asked. Courses built by the IRG use state-of-the-art software with curriculum based on the highly successful Indigenous Cultural Competence course, and based in adult education and Indigenous knowledges of how adults learn.
You likely received an email from your training leader with a link. Alternatively, please log in on My Account and get access to your course from there.
You need an internet connection, and courses cannot be downloaded for offline review. Courses include images, audio, video and interactive pieces, so you may want to have a high-speed internet connection. Courses are viewable on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Glad you asked. Courses are developed in Articulate Rise 360, and managed through Learndash.
Learners who complete a course can rate it on the Online Courses Page. There’s tabs, one for Course Description, and one for Reviews.
Unfortunately, no. Individual online course purchases are not refundable.
Technical Issues
Please go to My Account and reset your password using your email.
If you reset your password, the website will send you a “reset my password” email. Please check your spam or junk email if you don’t see it.
If you reset your password through the email but still can’t log in. This may be due to cookies on your computer. In your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc), please click File and open a New Container Tab – this forces a new cookie on your computer. Alternatively, please shut down your browser completely and open, then try a new login to The IRG website.
Are you doing the course on a cellphone? While it’s totally possible, progress tracking on a cellphone has some issues. Please consider doing the course from a desktop.
Are you working on a desktop? If yes, please check that you have given www.the-irg.ca permission to set cookies.
Course progress, or how much of the course you have completed, is Topic-by-Topic. The software rarely misses the progress point that you have completed half of a topic (i.e. half of Indigenous Canada). Please consider starting and finishing a whole topic in one sitting, if you can.
Bulk Purchasing Online Courses for Groups
Yes! Go to Group Learning, and click on Buy Course for Group.
You will enter in your details as group leader, and then be able to manage all details on Group Management for Leaders including adding or removing users, adding additional seats, and checking progress of your learners.
Bulk Purchase: an organization can buy a number of seats in a course, for your organization. The cost is based on the number of seats.
Group Leader: the person who manages the users, and can see progress of users. You can have more than one group leader per organization.
Users: After you’ve purchased a number of seats in a course, you can assign a user to each seat. You can also set up a number of groups in an organization, perhaps to run a course with a group every month.
Learner Progress Report: Group leaders can view if learners have started, in progress, or completed in Group Management for Leaders. You can see even more detail on progress in the Progress Report page.
There is much more information on what is possible as a Group Leader on the Group Management for Leaders page.
Totally ok! As a Group Leader, you have full power to give seats to anybody, via their email.
Please click on Group Learning and go to Group Management for Leaders. There’s more information on how to add/remove learners, check on learner progress, add additional group leaders and more.
Some courses do have bulk discounts, please see the Buy Course for Group for more information.
Unfortunately, group online purchases are generally not refundable once the course has been started by any learner. Please contact The IRG to discuss options, including delaying start/end dates, or replacing with another product. In rare circumstances in which the organization is unable to start the course due to unforseen issues, there may be options to refund on a case by case basis.
